Good morning.  It is great to be here in Panama, a nation with which the United States shares a deep, mutual commitment to promoting security, prosperity, and democratic governance across the Western Hemisphere.  We have a long history of friendship between our two nations.  I bring you greetings from the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.  Today, on behalf of President Trump, I am proud to donate 50 U.S-made ventilators and other medical resources to the Government of Panama to bolster its COVID-19 response.  These donations are in addition to the more than $4 million we have already given in health and humanitarian assistance to support Panama’s COVID-19 response.  True friends are there for each other when times get tough.
