  • This Unit is closed on Panamanian and U.S. holidays.
  • Processing times: Processing times for passport applications and delivery of passports is 6-10 weeks. All passports are printed in the United States and shipped to the Embassy. To avoid delays or disruption in travel plans, if your passport has validity of one year or less, we urge you to apply as early as possible. Please check Travel.State.Gov’s country specific information page to consider passport validity and blank page requirements for your country of destination.
  • Many countries have passport validity requirements. Before traveling we recommend you visit the Department of State website to ensure that your passport is valid for travel to all countries you will visit.

Important Information

What not to bring to your appointment

  1. Visitors are not allowed to bring cell phones, laptops, tablets, and similar electronic devices onto the premises. Visitors carrying unauthorized objects will not be granted entry.
  2. To facilitate and speed up your entry into the compound we recommend you bring no large bags such as suitcases, backpacks, and packages.
  3. Baby food and/or essential medications (in plastic containers only, NO glass) should be brought to the attention of the guards.
  4. Once you enter the screening area, be prepared to remove all metallic items, together with your coat/jacket, belt, handbag/rucksack/briefcase, etc.
