Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Stewart Tuttle
Stewart Tuttle is the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Panama. He served as Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. at U.S. Embassy Panama from August 2020 to November 2022. He previously served as Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid Spain.
Mr. Tuttle has 27 years of experience in the Foreign Service and has worked at nine different U.S. embassies and consulates.  Other recent assignments include Political Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, a fellowship as a foreign policy advisor in the office of Senator Marco Rubio, a year in Kabul as the Deputy Counselor for Political-Military Affairs, and a two-year stint as the Department’s U.S.-Mexico Border Affairs Coordinator.  He also served for four years as the Press Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, and as the Deputy Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia.  He was a Political Officer at U.S. Embassy Panama from 1998 to 2000, and was present for the Panama Canal transition ceremony.

Mr. Tuttle is a graduate of the Marine Corps War College and holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from Brigham Young University.  He is married and has three children.
