The United States accepted the invitation to serve as the host country for the Panama International Book Fair, which took place from August 16 to 21 2016.
The Fair shared American artistic expressions and values with more than 100,000 Panamanians. The extensive cultural agenda included writers, musicians, poets, a series of classic films, a scientific laboratory sponsored by the Smithsonian, a children’s reading room based on the world of Dr. Seuss, the exhibition “Bridge between the Americas” of the Anacostia Community Museum, and the collaboration of companies like McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts. In the life-size house which served as the United States pavilion, each room represented a different program venue, where we offered almost 200 different programs during the event.
