    Since January 2025, John M. Barrett has served as the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Panama, a role he assumed after serving as Deputy Chief of Mission since May 2023. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, John most recently served as Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Peru.
